Commercial Window Cleaning Tips
Regular window cleaning services are an integral part of commercial cleaning services. A professional cleaning company has the proper equipment and techniques to make sure your business’s windows are free of dirt and difficult to remove substances like paint.
Scrape Off Caked On Debris
The first thing you want to do is carefully examine the windows that are to be cleaned, checking for scratches, chips, paint splotches, silicone, etc. If a window has a crack or chip, you’ll need to be extra careful not to put too much pressure on it to prevent further damage. If there is hard gunk stuck to the surface of the window, you should grab a window scraper and remove the substance as much as possible. Do not use scrapers that are not intended for glass, otherwise you’ll run the risk of permanently scratching the window pane.
Properly Scrub Window Panes
Then, give the window a pre-wash with a natural sponge and water. Remove the water with a squeegee.
After inspecting the window and giving it a pre-wash, you’ll want to do a thorough window scrubbing. Start at the edges and, with a wet sponge along the window edges. Then work your way down from the top to the bottom using small circular motions. This makes sure that you cover every part of the pane and don’t leave long streaks. As with window scraping, you’ll need to be careful not to press too hard on thin or damaged glass.
This should do the trick for the vast majority of windows, but if there is still some debris that just won’t come off, try the scraper again. You may need to end up using stronger window cleaners or solvents depending on what the difficult to remove substance is.
