Cleaning Tips for Laminated Vinyl Floors
It’s important for businesses and institutions to maintain a professional appearance by regularly cleaning floors and carpets. Regular professional cleaning can help maintain the longevity and overall appearance of your floors. Dust, sand and grit can actually damage your floors by scratching surfaces and creating an overall dull appearance to flooring.
One of the most common types of flooring for high-traffic areas is laminate tiling because it is both affordable to install/replace and relatively simple to clean.
How To Properly Clean Laminated Vinyl Floors
Vinyl flooring can be well-maintained with regular sweeping and mopping. Vacuuming and sweeping on a regular basis keeps grit out of pores and prevents surface scratching. Avoid using a scrub brush or a vacuum “beater bar”, as both can add scratches to your floors.
Mop laminated floor with warm water to remove particles that sweeping and vacuuming do not remove. Rinse with fresh water afterwards.
You may choose to occasionally clean the floor with floor cleaners as well, but make sure they are environmentally-friendly. Avoid chemicals that can be dangerous to people and pets. Avoid abrasives, “mop and shine” products and detergents.
It’s always a good idea to put down rugs and mats to collect dirt and add an additional layer of protection over high-traffic areas.
And lastly, if something spills on a vinyl floor, it’s important to clean it up quickly before it has time to stain the flooring.
